In the waiting room by Yasmina Ben Ari @ Le Caire mon amour #2, 7-9pm December 4th, November 20th (cancelled), 16th and 13th, 7 Champollion Street, Cairo. The video installation is titled “In the waiting room” with the will to recreate impressions she gathered from Cairenes following January 25th. She has filmed and documented Tahrir square during the 6 months following the fall of Mubarak’s regime.

Faith, Hope and Greenland & Echoes by Ivalo Frank @ The Childrens Home, Tasiilaq (GL) on the 22nd. and 29th. of November 2011, 7PM Faith, Hope and Greenland is a documentary from 2009 by Ivalo Frank. The film is a poetic journey into the very hearts of the people of Greenland. Based upon interviews with leading representatives from the art-world including; film producer Mikisoq H. Lynge, visual artist Julie Edel Hardenberg, actress Makka Kleist and musician Peter Tuusi Motzfeldt ‘Tuumotz’ (whose music, along with songs from Nive Nielsen accompany the film), the four figures reveal their personal beliefs of what Greenland currently stands for and their dreams for a contemporary, Greenlandic society. Girls on the air (UK premiere) with cinematography by Alessio Valori @Barbican, Wednesday 09 February 18:30 Girls On The Air is a documentary that shows an unprecedented face of Afghanistan, a very different country from the stereotype media have contributed to create in Western collective imagination. Symbol of this diversity and complexity is the very young Afghan journalist, Humaira Habib, founder and editor in chief of Radio Sahar, the first independent community radio station born after the fall of the Taliban regime and entirely run by women, broadcasting from the city of Herat, near the border between Afghanistan and Iran. At the young age of 23, Humaira is the station-manager of Radio Sahar. She constantly trying to change Afghanistan from within by addressing the problems with political unrest, the increasing violence against women, and the suicide attacks. Directed by Valentina Monti
